How to configure Caredove in French

Most public facing aspects of Caredove can be configured to either be in English or French. Some parts of this process can be completed by yourself and some things need Caredove staff to assist.


Customer Completed Adjustments:

  • Listings (cost): please add English and French in text box.

  • Service status: please add English and French in text box.

Caredove Staff Completed Adjustments:

  • Service titles

  • Service Description

  • Eligibility

  • Organization names

  • Appointment & Referral options

  • Custom referral form questions

  • Enabling language prompt on Network Search Site

  • Network left column message

  • Network search column headings

  • Network grid and hover descriptions

Note: Please send the English word/phrase along with the corresponding French word/phrase to have the above information translated. Ideally, Caredove staff will have this information a couple days prior to the live date to ensure the translation is complete. In addition, please make sure the English word/phrase is 100% finalized before providing Caredove with the French translation. Even slight adjustments to the English phrasing can alter the appearance of the translation. If any adjustments are made to the English word/phrase, please tell Caredove.

Email confirmations

How language selection works

If your service uses a form that includes Preferred language, selecting French will automatically send the client a bilingual confirmation email, with the French content displayed at the bottom of the message.

What can be customized

Certain elements of the email—such as the service title, organization name, and any custom header or footer messaging—may require review to ensure accurate translation.

If you would like these elements translated into French, please contact the Caredove team with your requested translations so we can support setup and validation.

Platform-wide limitations

Much of the French content included in the lower portion of the email is configured platform-wide. This text is shared across all organizations and cannot be customized or overridden on a per-organization or per-service basis.

This ensures consistency and accuracy across the platform, but also means that unique exceptions or one-off variations are not supported.
