1. Username & Password (with optional 2FA)
Sign in using your Caredove email address and a password you’ve created.
This is the most familiar option and works across all browsers and devices.
Caredove passwords have security safeguards built in including a minimum complexity requirement, limited retries and systems that automatically block suspicious or harmful traffic..
[COMING SOON] For an extra layer of security, you can enforce your users to use 2-factor-authentication (2FA). After entering your password, you’ll be asked to verify a 2FA — for example, from an authenticator app or text message. This ensures that even if your password were stolen, no one could access your account without your second factor.
2. Passkeys [COMING SOON]
Passkeys are the latest and greatest way to sign in securely to applica let you sign in with your device’s built-in security, such as Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a password manager like 1Password — no password required. Passkeys are faster, easier, and more secure than passwords, and they automatically protect you against phishing.
Caredove recommends using Passkeys as your primary sign-in method, due to their enhanced security and ease-of-use.
Passkeys can be a bit tricky to understand and setup for the first time if you haven't used them before, but they are well worth the effort.
3. Sign-in from Email Link [COMING SOON]
Caredove can send a secure, one-time sign-in link to your email that you can use to sign in to Caredove, without needing to use any passwords.
This is a good option to use if you do not have a password manager for your passwords / passkeys, and don't use Microsoft 365. This method is as secure as your email access.
4. Sign in with Microsoft
If your organization uses Microsoft 365, you can log in with your Microsoft account—no separate Caredove password required. This uses Microsoft’s secure single sign-on (SSO) system.
When users click the "Sign in with Microsoft" they will be directed to the Microsoft 365 sign-in page. Once authenticated there, they will be redirected back to Caredove and logged in.
Signing in with Microsoft allows your Caredove sign in to inherits all of the authorization security that your organization has configured with your Microsoft account, such as password complexity requirements or 2-factor-authentication (2FA).
