To protect the privacy of any information you work with, Caredove automatically logs users off of the system after a determined period of inactivity.

For additional security, Caredove also uses a “secondary timeout” where users who are inactive for a shorter period of time can continue to navigate Caredove without being logged off, but will be asked to re-enter their credentials when attempting to access PHI records. Learn more.

How long do I have before Caredove logs me out?

Great question, reader. 👍 This is dependent on a few things.

  1. Generally, you have 300 minutes (5 hours) of inactivity before being logged out.

  2. Secondary timeout generally occurs after 10 minutes wherein you're prompted to re-enter credentials only to access PHI, but otherwise you'll be able to navigate the platform as per usual.

  3. If you're in the middle of referring again, you will be logged out after 20 minutes of inactivity.

In some cases, you may be logged out more frequently.

This may have to do with how your browser is reporting its identity. See troubleshooting guide here: https://help.caredove.com/en/articles/10064988-frequent-sign-out-issues
